Oil Tanks

We offer specialist services to install oil tanks to current legislation and operate across Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and Northamptonshire.

Current regulations governing the siting of oil tanks can often make it difficult to find a suitable location around any properties to position a new tank.

Oil tanks need to adhere to the following regulations:

  1. 1.8m away from non fire rated eves
  2. 1.8m away from a non fire rated building or structure (ie garden shed)
  3. 1.8m away from openings
  4. 1.8m away from oil fired boiler flues
  5. 760mm away from a non fire rated boundary such as a wooden fence
  6. 600mm away from any screening

If it is impossible to achieve some of these requirements then a fire protection barrier will need to be installed – as in the banner picture on this page, which is one we did for a business premises in Aynho.

A suitable base extending 300mm all the way round the tank will also need to be provided.

We recommend a solid concrete base of minimum 150mm. Bonded tanks from Atlantis, Harlequin and Titan can be quoted for or if you already have a bonded tank we are happy to quite for fitting it including a new based and any protection that may be needed.
